Castella cake and description

“Castella” is a two-person exhibition with Joseph Imhauser. The title Castella comes from a version of sponge cake, which became popular in Japan since in the 16th century Portuguese exploration of coastal Asia. This exhibition exposes cultural icons and illustrates how those icons have been adopted by dominating cultures.
